My GP recommended the Bunion Clinics at West Valley Hospital Croydon when I decided to do something about the bunion on my right foot that I had for many years as it was causing increasing discomfort as time went on. I met Dr Kumar Kunasingam at my first consultation. He came across as a very professional and confident keyhole bunion surgeon. He explained what the surgery involved and welcomed questions all the time. His sense of humour helped to ease my worries about the surgery. I am glad to say that my operation and subsequent recovery completed successfully and according to expectation. I cannot thank Dr Kunasingham enough for the care that he has provided. I would highly recommend Dr Kunasingam to others that are considering Keyhole Bunion Surgery.

On 23rd March 2020 my world crumbled. I received the MRI results that showed 20 years of hockey and a close encounter with a mogul on a recent skiing trip had taken its toll. In the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic, surgery is not an immediately available option. By the afternoon, I had set up a phone call with Dr Kunasingam for his opinion on my sports injury and what I should/should not be doing. To say my first and subsequent conversations with Dr Kunasingam were absolute life savers would be an understatement. His calm, professional and yet so friendly manner has done true wonders! I now feel completely in control of my recovery, understand my goals and the realistic timescales involved. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have suffered for many years with arthritis in both of my feet which over time has got worse and worse. More recently, it had startled affecting what I was able to do and although I am 80 years old, am not ready to sit in a chair all day! Having been more or less told by my GP that it was just something I would have to live, I asked to be referred to Mr Kunasingam. From my first appointment with him he put me completely at ease, listened and assured me that he would do everything he could to try and improve things for me. I had keyhole foot arthritis surgery on my 1st foot mid January. I was able to weight bare without crutches within a day. Two weeks later when the bandages came off, I was amazed at the improvements. No scars, increase in mobility and reduction in pain. I’m now booked for the same procedure on my other foot. Thank you so much Mr Kunasingam

Mr Kunasingam is a very rare find indeed, a truly inspirational surgeon, I am so lucky that I found him and I have been signing his praises ever since!! During our appointment, and talking through the risks before the procedure, realistic outcomes, he was completely patient centred, and took into account all of my personal situation, needs and expectations. He performed minimal invasive keyhole surgery for me on my right foot several weeks ago at West Valley Hospital in Croydon, And it was fantastic. I walked the same day Back in work and gym day two No pain meds day 3 and no crutches needed.. I’m 2 weeks post op and walking fine, training and am amazed by the speed of the recovery. He’s a lovely guy, humble and approachable but above all highly skilled. Would I be happy to let Mr Kunasingam perform surgery on my friends and family, yes 110%... I can’t recommend him highly enough top guy!!

I want to start by staying I am well overdue giving this feedback and I must apologise. I am so late that I am due to have surgery on my other foot (yes other foot) in 6 days time. Judging by that statement you must have come to the conclusion that I was/am more than happy with the first procedure. I would like to thank Mr Kunasingam for being so informative and patient and providing such a seamless operation. Recovery was remarkable. Within 3 days I was walking unaided and I was back to work and yoga within just over 2 weeks. Yes I took it easy and wore soft trainer type shoes but I was up and about and pretty much back to normal. I had my procedure on 12 March 2019 and was able to celebrate my 50th Birthday in heels on 21st May 2019. Amazing!! Roll on 11 months I cannot even remember the discomfort I previously suffered and my foot looks lovely. My right foot was more painful than the left so I had that one done first and already I am feeling comfortable on my feet and I feel confident again. I cannot wait for the second procedure. Thanks again Kumar.
